ORANGE: How to Structure Your Creative Business

October 30, 2024 @ 11:00 am 1:00 pm

This is a CREATIVE PLUS BUSINESS event in partnership with Orange Regional Gallery and Arts Out West.

Creative businesses and arts organisations need to choose a structure when starting out. Sole trader, partnership, not-for-profit – where to begin?

Are freelancers, contractors and sole traders all the same thing? What’s the difference between a not-for-profit and a social enterprise? Is a theatre company really a company? And how on earth can anyone tell the difference? ‘How to Structure Your Creative Business’ is a practical workshop for beginners that details all the types of legal structures available for businesses and not-for-profit organisations, the rights and responsibilities that come with each choice, and how to choose the right one that’s fit for purpose for you and your strategic goals.

This workshop is essential for anyone wanting to understand how their professional practice, business idea or charitable purpose fits into the legal and structural world.
