ONLINE (NSW): Future Planning for Creatives

October 17 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

This is a Creative Plus Business event for NSW Small Business Month.

A business or strategic plan is more than a way to make a bank or funder happy. It can be a truly invaluable tool to help you figure out where you’re going – and why.

Summarising your creative business or arts organisation into a written plan is a great idea, but without guidance it can become a stale and unused document that never gets implemented. ‘Future Planning For Creatives’ is an online workshop that reframes and explains the planning process in a way specifically designed for creative learners, and with a focus on creating practical action plans that work. With plenty or templates and tools to discuss, this friendly and real-world workshop will help arts practitioners from beginners to more experience professionals.

Participants will discuss the following, with a focus on arts practice and creative industries:

+ A look at the ‘traditional’ business and strategic plan, and the sections to focus on.
+ The importance of understanding the benefits of a vision, mission and values statement.
+ Choosing the right template for your purposes.
+ The reality of planning a professional approach with a busy personal life and artistic practice.

Resources and templates will also be provided for a variety of both business and strategic plans.
